Our project
aESTI offers carbon credits from small- to midsized farms. Farms as we know them in Europe, but certainly also Africa and Asia. aESTI deliberately chooses for these farmers to ensure that they also can participate on the ecosystem services market.
Existing protocols for carbon credits are expensive. Expensive enough such that for small to mid-sized farms, it is economically not feasible to participate. aESTI will change this. To improve these farmers' competitive position, but certainly also to support climate mitigation and give the transition towards sustainable farming a push in the right direction.
aESTI is developing a control protocol and control measures that are as reliable as existing protocols, but a lot cheaper.
Together with a number of farmers and other partners, we are testing this and expect the first 'aESTI' credits to become available by the end of this year.
Until then, we will offer credits from projects in which we strongly believe and that have already been certified. We do this because these projects sequester carbon and support local communities or because we can improve the financial return for farmers, by avoiding brokers and intermediaries and sell them directly to you, the end user.
